Saratoga Center For The Family

359 Ballston Avenue Saratoga Springs, NY 12866
Welcome to Saratoga Center for the Family - We’ve been Strengthening, Empowering, and Educating Children and Families For over 30 years
Incorporated in 1978 as the Saratoga County Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect, the agency started as a grass roots response to concerns about child abuse and neglect in Saratoga County. In 1993 the Task Force changed its name to Saratoga Center for the Family to reflect that the Center had evolved into an agency that serves child and adult survivors of abuse and parents and children with emotional and behavioral counseling needs.
Today, Saratoga Center for the Family is a not-for-profit abuse prevention and treatment service agency whose mission is: to provide a comprehensive array of services committed to strengthening, empowering, and educating children, families and the community to reduce the incidence and effects of child abuse, neglect and family dysfunction.
We are located at 359 Ballston Avenue, in Saratoga Springs, New York. Our agency provides abuse prevention programs, mental health counseling, victim’s advocacy and is home to the Harriet M West Child Advocacy Center.
Our prevention programs include: parenting and grand parenting classes, Strengthening Families, Educating and Empowering Kids to Stay Safe and the Child Custody Stress Prevention Program. Our mental health counseling program focuses on healing the effects of abuse and violence, but also includes counseling for family dysfunction, depression, anxiety, behavioral problems, anger, and emotional issues related to ADHD and other learning challenges. The victims’ advocacy program provides comprehensive, specialized services for child victims of sexual assault, violence and physical abuse. The Harriet M. West Child Advocacy Center is a warm, caring environment that places the Childs needs first. The center provides one location to interview, examine, and counsel abused children while preparing for prosecution of child abuse cases.
As Saratoga County’s primary provider of abuse prevention and treatment services the staff and volunteers at Saratoga Center for the Family have a large responsibility to it constituents and the community and continually strive to meet the mission.
